About Elite Airdrie Baton

Who We Are

We are a group of individuals, including dedicated baton twirling coaches and parent volunteers, committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for competitive baton twirling. Our mission is to instill values and skills in our athletes that will benefit them in the competitive baton twirling arena and beyond.

Our baton twirling coaches are dedicated to developing proper technique in our athletes. We believe this foundational skill is crucial not only for competitive baton twirling success but also for athlete longevity and protection from injury. As such, all of our coaches are trained through the CBTF program.

Notably, she brought home a bronze medal for Team Canada at the 2022 World Championships in Italy, competing alongside her pair partner (and fellow coa

Co-Head Coach - BTF Trained. Growing up as a competitive baton twirler in Airdrie, Miss Brooke has proudly represented Canada at various international competitions and world championships. Notably, she brought home a bronze medal for Team Canada at the 2022 World Championships in Italy, competing alongside her pair partner (and fellow coach!) Miss Emily. Additionally, Miss Brooke has been inducted into the City of Airdrie's wall of elite athletes! With 5 years of experience as both a baton twirling coach and a dance instructor at Elements Dance Co., she is well-versed in competitive baton twirling. As an Acrobatic Arts trained instructor, Miss Brooke has earned her preschool, module 1, and module 2 certifications, along with Baton Arts Module 1. Contact: brookedmauro@gmail.com

Co-Head Coach - BTF Trained, Miss Emily brings a wealth of coaching and competitive experience in the world of baton twirling. She has competed at various levels, including provincial, national, and international competitions. One of her career highlights as an athlete was winning a bronze medal at the World Championships in Turin, Italy, alongside Miss Brooke. As one of the dedicated baton twirling coaches, she has had the privilege of training athletes from the pre-competitive stage all the way to world-level competitors. Coach - BTF Trained Miss Paige began her journey in competitive baton twirling at the young age of 7. Inspired by her sister's captivating performances, she decided to join the next year. Now, with a decade of experience in baton twirling, Miss Paige has competed at both national and international levels. Her impressive accomplishments in

Coach - BTF Trained Miss Paige began her journey in competitive baton twirling at the young age of 7. Inspired by her sister's captivating performances, she decided to join the next year. Now, with a decade of experience in baton twirling, Miss Paige has competed at both national and international levels. Her impressive accomplishments include earning a bronze medal in Twirl Corps at the 2023 Nations Cup, a bronze medal in Artistic Team at the 2025 Nations Cup, and securing 6th place in 3-Baton at the same event. For about 4 years, she has been one of the dedicated baton twirling coaches, taking great joy in watching her students improve and grow throughout the baton season. Miss Paige loves baton twirling because there's always room for growth and new challenges, ensuring that she and her students can continuously strive for improvement. Summer Coach - BTF Trained Miss Paige has been involved in baton twirling for over 12 years, competing at provincial, national, and international levels. Her impressive achievements in competitive baton twirling include a gold medal in 3-baton and a bronze in 2-baton at the International Cup, along with top-10 placements at the Nations Cu

Summer Coach - BTF Trained Miss Paige has been involved in baton twirling for over 12 years, competing at provincial, national, and international levels. Her impressive achievements in competitive baton twirling include a gold medal in 3-baton and a bronze in 2-baton at the International Cup, along with top-10 placements at the Nations Cup in elite 2- and 3-baton, artistic twirl, and solo. Additionally, she earned a bronze medal in Twirl Corps and proudly represented Team Canada as the freestyle alternate at the 2022 World Championships. Currently, Miss Paige is in her third year at the University of Arizona, pursuing a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. As the captain of the Arizona Twirl Team, she also performs with the Pride of Arizona Marching Band, gaining invaluable showmanship experience while performing for crowds of 80,000 at football and basketball games. In addition to her competitive success, she has been one of the dedicated baton twirling coaches for five years, sharing her passion and expertise with the next generation of athletes. Miss Juliana is a BTF trained coach and a certified Acrobatic Arts assistant coach, specializing in competitive baton twirling. As a coach, she aspires to influence and encourage twirlers to grow with confidence and passion both on and off the competition floor. Now that her daughter has moved into coaching as one of the baton twirling coaches, Shannon feels even more motivated to give back to the community that supported her for so many years. Her goal is to help make the path a little easier for new athletes who are just discovering competitive baton twirling, and to support parents so they feel welcomed, informed, and able to get involved. Vice-Chair Kandis volunteers with Elite Airdrie Baton because she believes in building a supportive and inspiring environment for our athletes involved in baton twirling. Baton twirling has given so many young people confidence, friendships, and incredible opportunities, and she wants to help ensure that continues. Being part of this club means she gets to give back to a community that lifts each other up, celebrates growth, and encourages every athlete to find joy in what they do. It’s an honour to play even a small role in the success and experiences of these athletes and their families, especially with the guidance of dedicated baton twirling coaches. Treasurer Bernie has been serving as the treasurer for Elite Airdrie Baton since 2023 and is the proud father of Miss Emily, one of the two head coaches for the competitive baton twirling team at Elite Airdrie Baton. Bernie has been involved in baton twirling for the past 15 years as a parent of a world-class baton twirler, which included traveling throughout North America and Europe to support his daughter's endeavors. Secretary Joann has been volunteering in the sport of baton twirling since her daughters started, including Miss Paige, one of the dedicated baton twirling coaches at EAB. Paige and Kensey began their journey in competitive baton twirling when they were about 7 and 6 years old. To better understand the complexities of the sport and its competitions, Joann started helping out.
